Zofia Urbaniec
Founder, and Coordinator
Hi, my name is Zosia. Ever since I can remember, I have loved reading and discovering new things. For the past few years, I have also developed a passion for writing. I am especially interested in ancient history and other humanities subjects such as literature, philosophy, and political science. I am also a FLEX Program Finalist for 2026/2027. Apart from that, sports have always been an important part of my life. I ski, dance ballet and sail. I usually spend my free time outdoors, with a good movie or a book. However, what I enjoy most is constantly exploring new ideas and discovering the world from different perspectives and expanding my horizons. That is exactly why we created this website.

Tomasz Gruss
Writer in the field of physics
My name is Tomek. I am 18 years old. I am mainly interested in medicine, physics, biophysics, nanotechnology
and mathematics.
I was a finalist in the 74th Physics Olympiad. I received an honourable mention in the 20th edition
of the ‘Fizyczne Ścieżki’ competition for my research paper entitled ‘On a certain method
for solving Hamilton’s equations and its quantum version’.
As a scholarship holder of the ‘Zdolni’ Fund, I took part in research workshops on
quantum dots at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. I subsequently
presented this topic to a wider audience as a speaker at the Poznań
Science Slam 2024. I also took part in a
theoretical internship focusing on non-equilibrium phase transitions at the Institute of
Molecular Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań.
I co-created the projects “Ctrl + Code” and “Poznań
Mathematics Days with the Number 8’. The former, as part of the ‘Exempt from Theory’ Olympiad,
received the Golden Wolf award for the best technological project and an award from the Minister
for Digitalisation.
In my spare time, I write prose and song lyrics; I enjoy dancing and do strength training.
I often relax by colouring in anatomical colouring books.
In the coming academic year, I plan to begin my medical studies at
the Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań.

Oskar Irzyk
Writer in the fields of economics and geography
Hi there!
My name is Oskar Irzyk, I’m from Rzeszów, and I’m 17 years old. I’m currently studying at Worth School in England as a Polish Scholarship Scheme scholar, where next year I’ll be sitting my A-Levels in Maths, Economics and Politics. My main focus at the moment is working on an essay about the effectiveness of GDP in reflecting a country’s true wealth for The Young Economist of the Year 2026 competition, which I’ll probably publish here in due course. My journey into academic writing began at the start of secondary school, when I wrote essays for the Geography Olympiad and the Security and Defence Knowledge Olympiad, thanks to which I managed to progress to the next stages on two occasions. I am now focusing on studying economics in England, where my greatest achievement has been reaching the final of the British Economics Olympiad.
I have an intermediate level of Spanish, which may enable me to fulfil my greatest dream – studying economics with data analysis at the University of Navarra in Spain after finishing secondary school.
In my spare time, what I enjoy most is trying out new sports – I’ve recently taken up squash and cricket, and I play for my school’s second cricket team. For me, the biggest drawback of living in England is the British people’s lack of a sense of rhythm and enthusiasm for dancing, which has put a hold on my passion for ballroom dancing. Apart from that, I’m a massive football fan – particularly of Arsenal – and my first job was refereeing A and B-League matches. In my spare time, I promote eating cheesecake without raisins, tomato soup with pasta, and saying ‘na pole’.
